Distinguishing NMOSD From MS: Building Clarity and Awareness

At We Are ILL, we consider MS to be somewhat of a "pitstop" for those who are ultimately diagnosed with NMOSD. In this virtual patient education program, medical experts specializing in neurology guide participants through a comprehensive exploration of Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Through patient advocate stories, informative presentations, and real-life case studies, attendees gain a deep understanding of the distinct characteristics, symptoms, diagnostic processes, and treatment options for each condition. Attendees leave with a clear grasp of how these autoimmune disorders affect the central nervous system, empowering them to make informed decisions about their healthcare. The first 50 RSVPs will receive a resource kit in the mail.

Participants include Dr. Annette Okai, a board-certified neurologist; Marion Jones, an NMOSD advocate and ambassador from the Sumaira Foundation; and Brianna Pearson, an MS advocate and Program Manager with We Are ILL.
