NEW YEAR, NEW ME:</span>NEW GOALS AND HABITS TO ACHIEVE IN 2024</span>

I am so ready for 2024. I love the new year and all that comes with it. Setting new goals and making plans to adapt to new habits is all a part of gearing up for the new year. Making New Year’s resolutions is a tradition for me. I love to set goals for myself year round but even more so with the new year. The beginning of the new year is like a fresh start. I set financial goals, career goals, even gym goals and now I add goals or tasks I may want to start or adopt pertaining to my MS. Making sure each goal I set is realistic and attainable is important as well.

Here are a few of my top New Year’s resolutions and things I want to adopt moving into the new year:

  1. Be even more vocal in my care decisions. I am pretty vocal now but there is always room to turn it up a bit. So in 2024, I will be intentional about being open and honest with care providers and everyone who plays a role in my health care decisions.

  2. Not pushing myself too much and always taking that rest when needed. I know how important it is to get adequate rest and to listen to your body but I still find myself pushing myself too far sometimes. This is definitely something I will be doing much better with.

  3. Put myself out there more in 2024 and do more advocacy work. MS advocacy work has become something that is very important to me and I want to do more.

  4. Avoiding stress and all negative triggers is one of the most important goals for me. I am such an empathetic person — I feel everything and take everything to heart. In the new year I plan to stop allowing things I have no control over to stress me out.

  5. Last but not least, my final new year goal is to get strict about my diet! I will be removing sugar and junk food almost completely from my diet.

A new year to me symbolizes another chance to begin or start something new. It is a fresh opportunity. Setting new goals or expectations for yourself can be beneficial in so many ways.  Most importantly, the key to being successful with these goals is being consistent! Before setting any goals make sure you are committed so you can absolutely crush them all! I’m ready to begin checking these New Year’s resolutions off one by one. I can’t wait to crush them all! What about you?!
